Mig gas welding problem
 

Sup all I am having a little problem when trying to weld with gas. It starts fine but then the wire tends to bubble up on the tip of the gun. The welder is a Clark 130amp. I am using the correct gas, pumping about 10 of gas pressure. This has happened with other welders that I had. I have put the heat range all the way up and more gas pressure with no change. Could it be the wire that I am using? I use lincoln wire for Argon co2. I have change the polarity on the welder the way it shows when welding with gas.
Any inputs will be great.

It could be any thing from distance, to wire tipe and speed,

it's been awhile sence i used my mig machine, but i was upwards of 15 PSI or so, but i don't 100% remember

sounds to me like your machine needs servicing because it can't supply energy from the ground to the wire. dead contactor or coil. poor/faulty ground circuit. maybe failing soldier points inside the machine.
IDK just guessing

What polarity ARE you using?
What is the wirespeed? (hold down the trigger for X seconds and measure the amount of wire feed if it doesn't tell you)
What voltage?
What amperage?
Pressure? we don't measure in pressure we measure to weld. It's not an oxy/fuel torch. you use volume/time (cubic feet/hour or liter/min typically)

Its a brand new welder. I am gonna buy some new wire and try it out again. I am using a 6500watt generator with it since the house current is not strong enough in the back lot of my house. I usually put the wire speed at 3 to 4. Polarity, I set to what the welder sticker says. I think - for the gun and +for the clamp?. It has four setting on the amp, numbers 1 through 4. For good exhaust piping I use 3, which should be like around 100 amps. I will try to take pictures later.

You're ass ------- backwards on your polarity. To wire weld you run DCEP/DC+/DCRP.
The ground clamp is - and feeds it's energy back to the wire wire + which causes the head to ubildup on the wire, melt it, and give you good penitration. Same as stick welding. TIG welding is where DCEN/DC-/DCSP gives you deep penitration, not stick/wire.



What generator????????? What voltage, what amperage?
And turn the automatic load bullshit off and have it run 100% flat out if you're going to use a welder on it.
