I used McMaster butt weld SS parts to build kits before, this is my first time getting the steel ones. They are covered in a green paint inside and out. Wont' this "chunk-peel" off inside and make it's way into the turbo? Should I somehow strip it off? I am thinking it's there inside and out for rust protection since it is steel and not stainless steel, but what should I do to prep it?

just gring the bevels before you weld it, why would you buy mild steel, its not even cheaper these days,.

actually, i think stainless ones are cgheaper right now...

 

Can you tell me where you are getting stainless ones for cheaper or the same price as mild steel?
