Default Mani Fresh?

Hey guys, Lack of money and motivation led me to try and weld my turbine housing straight to the manifold. Theres some good welds I think but over all I think it will hold after a bit of grinding and touchup. Let me know what you guys think.

That will
A: Leak like a sieve.
B: End up cracking and falling off.

Did you stick weld that using a car battery or something?

I can go slower on wire feed and one more step up on the Amperage. Would that fix it.

Ok turn the heat up all the way and slow the wire feed down. Then go slowly and steady. It should be fine.

Ya, Your beads seem to be just "Covering Up" the joint. not penetrating into the material. ARC is the best. I did an adaptor plate to a 14b using my ol' 50yr old arc and some 6013 rod. 2 beads down each side. never seen a crack and never will! Mind ya I was using the highest amprage and hold the stick about 3/4" away!

Cast cannotbe mig welded properly. You need to use arc and a special cast rod. Or if you don't have access to an arc machine you can braze them together. Done properly those welds will last forever
