Making Custom front mount bracket/tabs?
Hey guys, i have a huge intercooler im running on my 95 civic Si hatchback. I took off the front bumper support, as to it wont fit with the front mount. There are really mounting points for the intercooler, so i had new nubs welded on. And im going to make brackets to bolt to the nubs. Is 1/8in thick steel to thick? or should that be just fine? because the intercooler is somewhat heavy also.

Thin sheet metal is all you should really need. If you can bend it by hand that is fine. I normally use leftover parts from the radiator core support.

ok thanks, i finished doing it last night ill have pictures today of it!

Cool. Another thing I've seen people use is the strips of metal with holes in it. Don't know what it's called, but you can get it at home depot.

good brackets, those should work fine. Good idea keeping the core under wraps till you're ready to go. Give us some end shots inside the tanks so we can see if you got one with a good core, or sucky core.
