Default Lincoln 3200HD users come on in

I'm looking at getting one of these for use in atlanta since I dont have easy "all-the-time" access to our 250dx back home in charleston. Since I live in apartment land I need one that's 110v like this one is.

I also want it since I see it can do gas or gasless and can weld aluminum as well. And no, I wont be doing big projects with aluminum...but I've had a few cracks in my intercooler before from the way it's mounted and it would be nice to be able to patch it myself without taking it off and leaving it at a shop for a few days...

anyway, those of you who have one....what all have you used it for and how has it done?? have you tried aluminum with it?? did the wire jam up in it or does it seem to have a good feed setup to it??

Stainless really needs a spool gun. Aluminum HAS to have it.

Iv had good luck with aluminum in the mig at school but you have to use a nylon linner with aluminum because the steel liner chews it up and then it gets stuck.

What they said with the SS and aluminum. I've got one, and it works wonders with regular steel, even if you are cheap and just use flux-core instead of mig. I can come really close to matching my flux-core welds with my mig welds, but i still like the gas attachment for mig much better. Just got to make sure the wire to the clamp stays nice and tight, mine loosens up every once and a while. And careful with the wing nuts inside it to swap polarity...i always end up dropping one into the welder and have to take the cover off to get it. Other than that and the occasional wire uncoiling on me while i change spools, it's a damn good tool. Just make sure to use it on a 20 amp outlet because on the #3 and #4 power settings it will kick a 15amp breaker like crazy.
