Default Let the bird ---- weld jokes begin!

I'm workin on boosting a D series, and I haven't had the time to practice tig welding at all. Just too much stuff going on right now. My block is at the machine shop, and I have a set of i beams and vitaras ready to roll. Now all I need is a mani. Basically I have 3 weeks before school starts and I won't get to do squat with the car. So I got a flange and some els and some tees and then I went to work on a nog-a-log. Stainless 304 welded with an ARC welder and 308 rods. Sexy, I think not. Practical, it holds water just fine.

14b action that clears the a/c and p/s

I hammered the runners so they matched the flange better, looks like i got decent penetration, I used 1/8th rod on 95 amps. I got 80% of the finish welding done on that extra b8 block and head I have to minimize warpage. I think ---- looks decent for my first mani. Let me know what you think.

1) That's an A+ job in HMT's mind.

2) We don't do finish welding. We do bird ----, and we rock it till the wheels fall off.

Thanks for the comments. Upon further review this was sch 10 pipe, not 40 like I said earlier, my bad.

Next, I gotta figure out a way to hack a hole in this thing. I'm thinking angle grinder, die grinder, and jig saw madness. Or maybe i'll splurge and go buy a hole saw, it probably will be worth buying one.

Welds look pretty damn good to me. I have a lack of tools myself and built a log the same way you're doin. IIRC, I started out with an angle grinder to thin out the hole then went at it with a die grinder.

p.s. a Rotozip with a 1/4" die grinding bit works awesome.
