so do engines, but the mounts welded to the unibody dont fall off. so do factory down pipes for exaust systems after the exaust manifold, 98% of the time they dont crack. Hell the vance & hines pipe on the dragbike isn't braced by anything it vibrates ALLOT, we use it as the kickstand for the bike, and it hasn't cracked for 4 seasons.

You've never owned a CRX pushing 225+ whp, huh?

Those are also braced. The manifold is braced to the block, and the downpipe to the back of the engine. The way the downpipe fastens to the cat is like a hinge, when there isn't a real flex-joint. It's *engineered* unlike most of the DIY stuff.

How many cylinders is it?

You are aware that dynamically balanced engines, like V8s, can run ---- material turbo manifolds with near-impunity? They don;t vibrate the poor things to pieces.

4 cyl 1478cc, somewhere in the neighborhood of 13:1-14:1, air cooled, huge cams, 48mm lectrons. solid mounted to the frame., but the runners also go through the flange.

lol thanks rawr

Yea my dumptube crack to ----, and it was mild steel. Both have been on my car for less than a year

I think im gonna replace this manifold with an LSD miniram, then get this one repaired and sell it off. This car is my DD, so i think i'd rather not trust krb's welds anymore
