IHI RHB5 D16 cheap AC Setup (56k, go stand in the return line at walmart)
Just because i dont have a car anymore doesnt mean i cant build setups.
I had all this stuff lying around my garage for about a year now, and i have never bothered to do anything with it, well last week i got busy and this is what i came up with and i decided to post it and sell it...
Clean *** IHI RHB5 i got at the yard
No flange, no problem drill press to the rescue.
shitty collector
Nice and straight
tack it up, so you dont ---- it up
its starting to look like a manifold now, ------- green coating looks like ***...
old *** hole saws suck ***....
limited warranty my ***........
all welded up.... damn i need to save up for a tig...
2.5in downpipe out of some spare bends i had laying around... (never throw away ---- you will need it later)
guess what? AC compatible yo.....
Yyyyyyup (in hank hill voice)
i decided it needed a heatshield, for the sleeper look or for its intended purpose.... to keep ---- from melting.
well here it is in all its uglyness.... nah jk... it came out pretty good....to bad ill never get to use it....
bonus pic....... mmmmmmmmmmmmm flaming
Its a miracle nothing went bad on this setup.... i wasnt in a hurry to get it done. No cuts, scrapes, burns, or bruises.
Damn.... lots of hours, and countless trips to the welding supplies but finally it got finished
take it easy and it will all come out right in the end.....

I love that little buzz box (lincoln promig 180 or something).... but i have to move on to something better. im still going to keep it, but im looking into getting a Syncrowave 180... thanks for the comments. ive come a long way from the days i had to rent a wire welder, and had to flux core everything...
And for it clearing AC... i wish I had kept my AC compressor but i had to sell it for gas money when i lost my job last year. but i will clear as long as it doesnt go over the AC mounting bolt holes, as seen in this picture, it clears it by an inch and a half.
