honda d-series exhaust manifold question.

it is possible to mate a dsm turbo to a d16a6 SI exhaust manifold. i see every one using the HF. What's the benefit of using the HF? is there adapter plates out there for the SI manifold? i tryed to search but only find info for the HF manifolds and adapters. if there is already a sticky or tread about this please send me a link. thanks a lot.

well i suppose you could, I think it would be a bitch trying to secure the adapter plate though, you would likely end up having to weld the turbo flange to the cast iron manifold and it might not support the weight of the turbo and downpipe.

The HF is better because you can basically bolt on an adapter plate to it and go, its real cheap and easy, and works, there used to be a archive of threads showing how to do it.

you should be able to find an hf mani cheap or just buy a log from one of our awesome sponsors.
