it's probably a square cable in a nylon sheathed cable.....just like a speedo cable. hint-hint.

Re: hmt boost controller

Causes boost spike!!! Too much vacuum lie creates a delay signal. I did this and stopped after 2 test drives. Go and buy an electronic. You'll be WAY happier. I got my TullosTech about 2 weeks ago.

Man I'm glad I read that. I was going to try something like this with my MBC.

Regarding the delay, causing boost spike, what about using thin nylon tubing instead of rubber hose. Some guy did a test or something somewhere and it'd only be a 2/100ths of a second time delay going into the cabin and back out. I read that somewhere.

julio is using an in-cabit mbc with long ass hoses. works great from what he said. he hasn't mentioned anything about boost spike. assuming all is well

If you are trying to be cheap, then get outta the car and change it.

If you wanna be Ub3r 133t and do it on the fly, then pay the money for a cheap MBC or EMC.

way to stay on topic. This is Homemadeturbo.com. If you need to source some cable with square ends try your weed wacker. Thats what they and I use on my R/C boat. Just find some tubing to stuff it in and a teflon liner and you can have enough torque to change boost settings. All of that teflon stuff is easy enough to find on ebay or at hobby stores or just give me a shout and I'll get some. The tubing though so long as you have your beginning and end securely attached and the rest braced you could probably get away with rubber hose or stainless steel hose that way you can put some serious bend in it if you need to but I think its in reach and let me know if you need any drive cable or teflon I'll search my supply (limited) or find a source for you.
