Default galvanized pipe

is there a easy way to tell galvanized from normal mild steel exhaust pipe? i think galvanized is the brighter lookin silver-ish right? cause me and my friend are stupid i guess and were trying to weld galvanized pipe and it was turning out like ----. and then we felt shitty. every where we went like fleet farm n ---- seems to have the gallanized pipe at least in shorter pieces and adapters...

weld it... galv will have a blueish smock and leave a white film near the weld. Or you could just throw it out in the rain and see what happens

I usually have my heater or a fan blowing the fumes away. First time i welded galvy and inhaled a -----load of the fumes it made me sick as hell.

if you are doing any sort of gas welding you don't want a fan blowing away all your shielding gas. i'll assume you are doing flux core.

Just hold your breath -----!!

Yeah, white or yellowish residue left after welds is a big giveaway.

Weld outside and hold your breath while doing it, it's that easy.
