im thinking 12 inch wide aluminum sheet like thick flashing for roofing. then rivet it on and paint it black.

sound good? this is what my bumper looks like now.

sheet of plastic, some garden trim... then you don't have to paint :D

needs to be wide enough to cover the intercooler and thick enough to hold its shape.

garden trim is neither.

look for some project sheets of plastic, try heatin em up...or get some thins flashing and paint it...

the garden trim just makes the very bottom lip piece, so it can withstands a few bumps. thicker plastic sheet for the main part of it.

what kind of plastic though?

i dont have a heat gun so it has to be flexible enough to work with cold.

abs plastic 1/8 thick might work, but you might need to make
some knida of frame for the bottom for more support

look for GST subaru in google. they have a website, good ----. nice car.

that cheap plastic cutting boards, they are 1/16 in thick, find some that is an 1/8, with the bend in the ends, it should be plenty strong.

the bright blue couplers kinda throw out the stealthyness of the black intercooler. use a blow dryer instead of the heat gun

ok, started this ---- tonight

sheet metal.

looks clean so far, gotta reinforce the bottom and i kinda fucked up and covered the bumper mount bolts.

will get pics tomorrow.

still havent reinforced it, dont think im going to.

its very low and now if i bottom out it can bend back and be fine.

i think reinforcing it will cause problems down the line.

i put a piece of square steel tubing i had lying around in as a stiffiner.

get some cleaner pics, i think it would have looked better, if you would have
attached it to the lower part of the bumper(under the molding and signasl lights),
right were it indends, instead of the upper,
on the upper it just mades the bumper look to wide for me.
also i would make some more holes in it so it don't look to soild, look at some front bumpers on racecars to get some ideas.

NASCAR i like ... so that aluminum sheett i know its not too expensive if you get it thin my bro paid almost 400 for a 4'x8'X1/4" aluminum but a thin sheet should not be too much plust you can do 2 bumpers and sell the rest to someone

I gotta admit I think it would look better if it had some sort of taper to it. Like tuck it in a bit about 3-4 " down on that thing so its not like a Big ass block. Make sense? so that you had a 4" bumper and then it goes back towards the car a bit and then down to teh ground.
