supposedly these motors are good for upwards of 400 on stock internals. the engine is heavy as ---- is all i can say. iron block for the muscles!

400hp on stock internals for a zetec? I've never heard of such a feat. I've heard stuff more along the lines of the stock rods going after 250 or so hp.

 

its a ford motor you cant blow them up

 

these arent the 2.0Lzetec from the focus, theyre from the 2.0L escorts, very similar but the internals are different,

the stock focus svt's can make 350whp no problem tho.

i had one in my Contour and it was a POS. replaced the motor, and it was still shitty.


the ****** liked to overheat..... so i replace....

radiator
hose
tstat
fan (and added a second fan)
heater core
coolant flush

eventually ended up pulling the OEM engine and put in a JY rebuilt and it still overheated.


ended up selling to some schmuck on CL for $1000 more than it was worth.

 

So you're going to weld a manifold and downpipe for me on the LS-VTAK build, correct?

 

So I should look into replacing my internals with the stock internals from the old Escort zetecs?
