Finished up my roll cage :)
finished up the welding on my cage last night, didn't turn out to bad for being the first thing I have ever bent and about the first thing I have ever tig welded.
I spray bombed it grey to help keep it from rusting, but it looks pretty decent that color so it might just stay. http://www.eville140.com/starlet10/cage10.jpg http://www.eville140.com/starlet10/cage11.jpg http://www.eville140.com/starlet10/cage12.jpg http://www.eville140.com/starlet10/cage13.jpg http://www.eville140.com/starlet10/cage14.jpg http://www.eville140.com/starlet10/cage15.jpg Later Randy www.eville140.com |

got any pics of the plates where the tubes connect to the floor?

Re: Finished up my roll cage :)
I almost thought that was a S&W kit after seeing those two bars that angle down from the harness bar to the floor like S&W does with there kits. Nice ---- though. How much did it run you? What did you build it to be approved for?

Re: Finished up my roll cage :)
I bent the cage up myself from 4130, it should be nhra legal.
I used a Pro-tools model 105 bender to make the bends. This thing works great. http://www.pro-tools.com/105.htm As for the floor attachments, the front downbars and front door bars are hooked to 6*6 plates as is the rear down bars. The main hoop and kicker bars are mounted to 2*2 box tubing that connect the subframes together. Here is an in progress picture of them. http://eville140.com/starlet9/subs.jpg Later Randy |
