Ebay seat Install

We have all looked at those ebay seats for around 150 shipped, they look great but they wont bolt to the stock rails WTF!! but here is the solution
on a 1-10 i Would give this DIY around a 7 and about 4-5 hours of fab per seat so this is a weekend project for sure. Tools -general hand tools -welder -cut off/grinding tool -c clamps of a partner -few feet of 1/8"x1" mild steel Ok so this is what ships with your seats Attachment 13348 take it all and assmeble it onto the seat, its pretty simple to instal and all fits right together, pull the rails out to 5 notches so all 4 bolts can go in, make sure they are all even ect ect. Attachment 13349 sand all of the paint off and measure 3" and 10" down from the top, DONT COVER THE HOLES FOR THE BOLTS lol and tac in cross bars Attachment 13350 this is what you should now have after you remove it from the seat. put the seat aside for a while. Attachment 13351 Cut off all four corners of the stock seat rail and remove the rivets on the inside so they are all flat Attachment 13352 I put the tip of the rail flish with the "hump" in the floor and measured all around to make sure its all square, mark the corners with a marker Attachment 13353 Attachment 13354 Attachment 13355 after marking cut around your marks and cut down so the top of the rail is flish with the top of the stock mounts and tac in all four corners http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...1/100_2334.jpg should now have a nice level seat rail like this Attachment 13356 the front of the rail fits very well and is pleanty strong to support it but the back only touches one corner Attachment 13357 add more steel, look at the pic you know what to do Attachment 13358 start finish welding it all weld on both side and from anywhere you can, in a chash solid seat mounts are VERY important!!! Attachment 13359 tada!! if you plan on using a 4 point harness you can paint and bolt these suckers in, but i plan on using my stock belts as an option so keep going. Attachment 13360 I started by removing the seat belt clicker and then cuting off the stock mount for it, moved it to the seat and added pleanty of metal and welded on all sides to keep it as strong as possible. Attachment 13361 DONE!! bolt the suckers back in and you have some sick seats!!! |
Re: Ebay seat Install
just wanted to add
after you have it all tacked up, bolt it in and get in. the first time i did something like this the seat was way too high. so i had to make new ones. |
Re: Ebay seat Install
where is the wide view pic with the seats mounted in the car?
|
Re: Ebay seat Install
oh you also want to sit in the seat to make sure it slides far enough forward and back.
the first set i made didn't allow the seat to move forward enough for my wife to drive the car. |

Re: Ebay seat Install
nice job....are they comfortable to sit in? does the side support actually hold u in place? and how well do think those seats will hold up to DD'ing
I've always been concerned about how long they last when a fatty like me gets in and out everyday, until the back snaps off and i'm reclining on the highway or something |
Re: Ebay seat Install
Dose the seat recline all the way back? Because I like to lean back when the hookers are giving me head.....lol

I've always been concerned about how long they last when a fatty like me gets in and out everyday, until the back snaps off and i'm reclining on the highway or something as far as support goes they are amazing, its like someone is literally hugging you as you take a corner hard, you move a couple of inches at most even with the stock seat belt as for durability, been about two weeks now and no issues or anything broken, they are fairly sturdy. yea they recline all they way back, more then enough to bang, although the bolsters make it hard for her to be on top (tried it) they also flip all they way forward to allow people to get in the back without having to pull the seat forward |
Re: Ebay seat Install
