Default driver side EK mount keeps breaking.. tried welding :(

so I'm on my 3rd try with these ridiculous mounts, with no luck so far.. the one I broke today was welded solid with a piece of steel on both sides.

you guys usually come up with some good ideas, so what do you think would make a quick solution? my engine already put a convexed dent in my hood from lifting upward

it's too late right now otherwise i'd take a picture to show where the welds snapped.

Either spend $200 on an aftermarket one or make your own. We made one out of square steel tubing for my 00 si and it works great. I dont have any pics but maybe PhilStubbs will see this thread and post up cause hes got some pics of it.

Can you add some bolts to that welded mount? The weld will takes less stress.

what exactly do you mean by adding bolts? there's 3 bolts that go into the chassis to hold the mount down.. the stress is up top where it flexes

it a horrible design.. it's a oil filled cylinder mount with a free floating (joystick style) bolt uptop
