Downpipe/Dump, 02/Wideband Bungs, 3" Exhaust Cutout *Need FAB Placement HELP*
Hey guys
Im kind of stumped on how I should go about doing this setup. First off the car is an 88 Crx Si with a D16 motor Im stumped on how I should run this setup, I dont know where to put everything in what order and what the laws of rules of making the best power are. Check out this pic first http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...1/f00b4f40.jpg Its small but you get the idea, now heres my questions. Im going to run a 3" downpipe into a mechanically operated 3" exhaust cutout. you can see in the pic how it is curved, i want 1 90 bend and then almost straight down about 10" into the cutout Now as you can see my wastegate comes out just above the downpipe but it about 3.5" BEHIND it I need to know where to make the wastegate dump enter the downpipe and if I am allowed to make it enter 2-3" above the cutout or if it has to enter BEFORE the 2 02 bungs Someone please clarify that for me Im just lost really on the fact if I can make the wastegate dump enter AFTER the 2 02 bungs or if one has to be ahead or if there any rules like that? If it matters its OBD0, I should maybe also mention that Im going to have a full 2" exhaust being routed back from the downpipe Let me know if you guys need anything else or pics or whatever |

If I was you, I wouldn’t even bother with that. just let the WG be by it self, let it blow off underneath your car or something, unless your worried about emissions and stuff.

Yes I have e-testing

I have mine rerouted to the exhaust like your picture.

Re: Downpipe/Dump, 02/Wideband Bungs, 3" Exhaust Cutout *Need FAB Placement HELP*
And then the 2 02 bungs just below where it enters the exhaust?
What is that like for power? |

Its fine.

Re: Downpipe/Dump, 02/Wideband Bungs, 3" Exhaust Cutout *Need FAB Placement HELP*
Even if your looking for 15-18psi and 300whp? or would it be more benefical to run it down at the bottom of the e-cut and the 02 bungs be at the top of the downpipe
Does it matter when the 02 bung and wastegat goes? |
Re: Downpipe/Dump, 02/Wideband Bungs, 3" Exhaust Cutout *Need FAB Placement HELP*
In theory it matters quite a bit. On my own car that is a stock A6 running 10 psi, it doesnt. Check out Jeff's post on his new DP. His is done right.

Re: Downpipe/Dump, 02/Wideband Bungs, 3" Exhaust Cutout *Need FAB Placement HELP*
------ e-test and me being scared of cops checking

Re: Downpipe/Dump, 02/Wideband Bungs, 3" Exhaust Cutout *Need FAB Placement HELP*
---- I dunno what to do, run everything open and hope for god I never get pulled over and the cop checks for emissions ----
Or if I should continue fabbing and entire exhaust and work with my mechanical cutout and some ssort of reroute of my dump back into the exhaust |

just do that. and make sure that the pipe is facing downward.

In theory, it would be better to have the o2 bungs further down on the downpipe. It would also be more beneficial to have the wastegate exhaust gases enter the downpipe after the 02 bungs (from the sounds of what i think you want, id suggest you do it, smell and cops wont be as much to worry about) Just put the ecut our further back on the downpipe and as far as that goes, i really dont think its going to matter if the dump is before or after that. just keep the design simple so you dont have to much fabbing or leaks to deal with.
