Downpipe

Well, my turbo hangs low as a mofo, so I had to make a radial bend.

We ran out of mild steel filler rod so I made most of it using brass filler :6
It was also my first time working with aluminized steel which is kinda wierd in the first place.
I was going to post up pictures of some of my nicer welds, but couldnt figure out how to make the camera focus.

Thats the kind of stuff we make around here. Custom hand rails, custom spiral staircases, anything made of steel really. Those rails you see in the back are for a commercial application, but usually we make some artsy JDM KUSTOM railings.

Re: Downpipe

I posted this DP on a local forum I frequent and the response is so rediculous.
One guy (local celebrity fabricator) is arguing with me about how bad aluminized steel is.
He of course only uses SS. I try to explain to him that SS is competely overkill on an exhaust and is purely a luxury item, but the dude doesnt understand. He also tells me that the strengh of my welds sucks because of the brass filler.

How strong does a downpipe need to be??! This thing is supporting ------- 10 pounds!
---- man - me venting.

Re: Downpipe

it may be supporting a bit more than 10 pounds but just make sure you use a flexpipe to allow some leeway with engine movements.
