CRX SiR frontend conversion q's

I heard that i can use the JDM headlights, fenders, hood, bumper on the USDM CRX without changing the USDM CRX radiator support. Is this true? Can anyone verify this? So its a bolt on process?

Yup, you summed it there. You almost lost me at "looks" but the "stock" part is funny. If it's just stock stuff, which you already own, why bother? ???

I'll buy that SiR front. I just sold mine for A LOT more than that. :y

T-Bar can be modified, don't need the uber cool JDM one.

also you dont have to use the fenders.. but the side markers will look wierd against the jdm headlights.

$200 for the frontend isnt too gay ;D

$150 for the whole car is solid. $200 for some front end sheetmetal that doesn't need to be replaced is JDM Gay.

Ah! Well, sorry your car's been struck by the JDM vandals, bro. My sympathies. :(

Cause the frontend of my 89 hatch is from my old 91 crx...---- just doesn't like to stay in place without all the proper pieces :P I want to go back to a hatch front anyway...why not an SiR one if I could get it cheap enough? Otherwise...regular stock mad usdm gayness it is.

Re: CRX SiR frontend conversion q's

You cut the fenders under the molding and ran the Civic lower portion? Correct radiator support? It should all bolt together, and a CRX nose holds a larger IC without sawzall action.

Re: CRX SiR frontend conversion q's

How much larger, approx? I've got a 12 inch tall core on the hatch that's way too flashy for me, because I couldn't fit it under the bumper without having it stick out below. I'm in the process of getting a CRX, was hoping I could get away with the 12 inch, if not, I will cut it down and re-weld the end tanks.

Re: CRX SiR frontend conversion q's

12 inch is borderline, 11 inch is doable, depending on thickness. I had 24X11X4 and it pushed the bottom of the bumper out a hair... if it had only been 3" it would have tucked sweet.

CRX bumper immediately swoops forward. Hatchcrap have the little piece that runs under the headlights, and then the bumper cover tucks under that so it eats up even more room, and you end up losing an inch or a little more height with all that BS.

You have a good point with that. My evo8 fmic sticks out from underneath about 1 1/2" inches righ now. I fucked up originally...I cut and welded the bottom pieces from the old hatch fenders to the crx ones...they fit like a dream. Problem came in with the radiator support...crx one was pretty hashed from a previous accident, so all I had was the original hatch piece. I don't even have that big metal bumper support in there anymore, so I'm pretty much fucked if I hit something head on.
