Re: crhome molly tubing
Yes, but cromo is pretty hard ----. It's the hardest mild steel alloy you can weld IIRC. It pretty much has to be TIGed. 5ft for $5? It's usually $4-5 per foot.

Re: crhome molly tubing
For a roll bar it would need to be 1 3/4" .083
and for a cage it will need to be 1 5/8" .083 And yes it runs about $4.50ft, I get mine from here http://www.chassisshop.com/ It has to be tigged to pass tech, best to use er80s2 filler rod. Pretty cool stuff. There are a few progress pictures of my homemade cage here http://www.eville140.com/starlet9.html Later Randy |

Re: crhome molly tubing
I would double check the wall thickness and everything. $5 for a 10ft section seems a little to good to be true.

Re: crhome molly tubing
Unless you know your tig welding, it'll cost you more in the long run to have someone weld it in, where mild can be mig'd in.
From how I've heard it, street cars get mild, race cars get chromoly. |
Re: crhome molly tubing
well i'm using chromoly
