Default China FTW.

I picked this up from a local discount tool store for $44.99. Brand is "Grip" and yeah it's auto darkening. It's flimsy, but works. On the inside it has a darkness adjustment and ON/Off button. I dont want to go back to a regular manual one after this.

This one has a 1 sec pause to go back to clear to . But it's hella easyer to start with out having to flip the helmet down.

There are also numerous articles on these chinese helmets not actually meeting the advertised darkening time. I had one of those, then I thought about wanting to be able to see in a few years. I bought a Miller Elite. You can't put a cost on your eyes.

With that said if you weld occassionally then I'm sure it would be fine.

yeah i got the same one, pulled the flames off and put a big *** crower sticker on it.

if i welded often though i would have gotten a better helmet.

I just weld as a hobby, not very often. It seems like it darkens instanatly, but I supose there could be a nano second delay that I'm not seeing.

I have a spec 4 puck and it's never really worked right from the start. You might be thinking of one of the other Escort guy's, Marclar blew a clutch towing some pick up truck. I'm just doing what ever it takes to make the car faster, just like any one else addicted to this damn boost.
