I don't want to burst anybody's bubble, but it's pretty easy to tell that the welds were done with a pulser. It's not hard to make them look that way when you just wash over them with the pulser as your last pass.


I'm not knocking the setup, so please don't take offense. Overall, it's a lot of work and looks good.

not to knock yu sir, as i know you can weld great. but i have not used my pulser sence i first got the welder and was messing with it.

now if you would like i can make a vdeo of me welding start to finish and show you that i just have a different technique to my welding.

now i never take the filler out of the puddle i work the puddle with my torch to get the desired width, penitation, and height to my weld. now the filler is in the pudle the whole time here so when i move forward i push the filler into the puddle, this keeps me from undercuting.

IMO i dont think keeping the filler in the puddle lets you get enough penetraion. it makes for great looking welds but you have to get the heat through the filler then into to base material, quite backwards if you ask me

ok i do a root pass with "NO" filler, then i do a pass with filler to "FILL" in the weld. you can't expect penitration on this thick material with just one pass. thats what a root pass is for.

Ah ok. Makes sense. Didn't know what thickness your were using. Ive never done any thick stuff before, Ive done some twin bank TT V8 stuff, using thinner tubing supported with brackets. Penetration is easy to get with that tubing.
