Aslong as:
1) It is a clean surface that will give the epoxy grip (textured/sanded, ect)
2) The part does not get hot enough to allow the epoxy to uncure
Then it will probably hold.

A threaded in pipe fitting with epoxy or other high temp sealant on the threads would be held in mechanically rather than just relying on adhesive bond strength. That would be better, hopefully that's obvious.
