cast iron to steel?
 
can you weld cast iron to ss? with a mig welder? and can you run galvanized steel as a manifold?

you deffinitly dont wanna be welding galvanized there, that ---- can kill ya pretty good

You have to grind the galvanization off.
Not only is it toxic, it hurts like ---- to breath in.

stay away from the galvanization, you can weld cast to steel, its just not going to be the easiest thing for a beginning welder and it definately wont come out as strong as youd like.

i literally "takes your breathe away"

i found that out tiggin it 2 nites ago, i even tired to grind off tghe galavanization ----

galvd metal has zinc in it to weld it requires big saftey measures and a fresh air supply

You guys know how if you turn on acetalyne without oxygen, it solidifies and becomes little black particle clumps? Galvinization does the same thing only in a much more toxic form. So when you breath in galvanization, it's like breathing something solid like pieces of a tissue.

so galvanized steel is different from aluminized steel? I made my downpipe out of aluminized steel using a easy mig and it came out perfect, with no dangerous fumes

i always thought they were the same... Does somebody know different?
