The slots and bolts were to pinch down on the headrests, but it is not needed. I run bungee cords from the eye-bolts to the seat brackets to stabilize it. One wingbolt is to secure the camera, the other is stuck through the welded on coupling nut to adjust the angle of the hinge. I love it. I am looking to do one for outside the car. Well more than 1

Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
boy that's safe.
|
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
did you put metal spikes on it where your head rest is?
|
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
that shits gonne chop your head off.
make sure your going fast enough when you wreck so you dont live through it. |
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
It dosent seem that un safe, If bolth your headrests break off and that thing goes flying in a crash u were going to die anyways.
And post some nudes of the screaming girl in the pass seat :6 |

this seems like a better idea....safer too and can be found here |
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
that is clamped on and costs more. It looks like it would have vibration problems. Mine sits kind of low, and that one is also lower. You also must get out or have a remote to start and stop the camera.
my design is perfectly safe, because as was already noted, the headrests would have to come off for the bar to go anywhere. The headrests can not come off unless the seat is reclined, so the posts would actually have to snap or shear. |
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
wreck into a wall and let us know how it does
|
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
1-how is it going to come off of the headrests? The headrest posts go through the bar, which is then clamped to them.
2-they always put walls on auto-x tracks...right... 3-passed tech, no problems, the tech guys actually liked the design. I would be more worried about the camera coming off the mount and ------- my windshield, but refer to 2. This is like H-T where they are all pissy about 4pt harnesses w/o cages for auto-x. When someone hits a wall or rolls their car doing it, then I still won't care. |
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
that metal is going to tear up your fake leather too
|
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
there is no track that I have been on that would allow that setup(road course)
maybe on a drag strip but not a road course |
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
I like mine better. It's a stock headrest frame with a plate welded on and a nut/screw for the camera. Goes well on the passenger seat. Just wish it would swivel, but putting the seat forward works fine.

looks real enough to me. Also, I do not doubt that a road course would not allow it, if I built it for a road course it would be mounted to the cage. This is for auto-x, hence no cage, no chance of rolling. I like the headrest mod, it would give a higher position for sure, but I usually run with a passenger. |
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago
my race car has a windshield mount with a bullet camera into a 1080p hd recorder 60frames per sec
amazing video! |
Re: Camera mount, built it awhile ago

i dont think it will work for delsol seats, but i like it better in the back
|
if i didnt have racing seats id do that.... i think when i get a harness bar ill make it able to hold a camera
|
nice i wanna make one
|
i like it. i guess technically its more dangerous then not being there at all, but there is no way in hell its coming off. passenger seat mount is alright, i like the centered one better. and only $7 :D
|
both of those are nice . i usuly just jam mine inbetween the seat and the headrest . hasent fallen out yet but i like these much better.
|
well they all beat the deush-bag holding the camera in the passanger seat filming anything but what you want to see...
