building my first manifold which design to choose from
1 Attachment(s)
hi as some of you might know i got a welder a few weeks ago and have been flux whoring it ever since i got this bitch,, i decided since an adapter plate would cost me $ 50 i could just sell my hf for like $20 and use the $70 to build my own manifold,,,, even if it cost more it would be worth it cause it will flow a hell of a lot better... well heres my delima should i go log, mini ram or full ram,, i have a radial arm saw with a metal blade so i dont think it will be that bad
here is the mani i was thinking about making is this better than a reg log Attachment 34727 https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=54394.0 i remember seeing the mini ram "chuck noriss" on this site but cant find it now, can you link me up and i know ima come off as a cheapskate but i like to get down and dirty and do my own shizint if i can so give me a break,, turbo is going to be a volvo t3 .48/.50 on a stock d16y8 which will have internals a few months after the install i alrady got 450cc dsm injectors and cca fmic and power goals are 180whp for now and 250 after the build thanks guys i wouldnt mind some links for cheap flanges and bends |

If you like to get down and dirty figure it out for yourself like the rest of us did.

Re: building my first manifold which design to choose from
Don't run cylinder 2 and 3 straight like that. At least try and direct the exhaust to the turbine. Its a bad picture but here was my cheap manifold:
http://www.hmt-tv.com/hmt/matt/Newturbokit/DSC00536.JPG 6 bends total were used and the turbulance is substantially less than the manifold you pictured |
Re: building my first manifold which design to choose from
thks whitey i am going to set up my collectors like the 1st pic with 45 deg bends on the second and thrid cylinders, is there anybody cheaper than mcmasters for bends its $5.85 x 2 for the 45 deg bends
http://www.mcmaster.com/param/asp/ps...1375=57320;M;I and 5.70 x 4 for the 90 deg bends http://www.mcmaster.com/param/asp/ps...1375=57316;M;I i am looking for a d series head flange and a t3 inlet and downpipe flanges heres what i found inlet flange 12.99 http://store.racing-solutions.org/t3inletflange.html and 13.99 for the exhaust flange http://store.racing-solutions.org/t3ouflf5bo.html so far i am up to 62 bucks b4 shipping but i still nead a head flange thats not bad for a better maniforld bmc has head flanges for $27 plus shipping so total not including consumables is about a 100 bucks shipped |
Re: building my first manifold which design to choose from
Head Flanges are $25.00 shipped, and 90 ss bends are $4.25 ea. Make a Miniram style like this
