a friend of mine is trying to talk me into brazing 2 DSM intercoolers together and forming an air to water intercooler with aluminum brazing rods. does this seem possible at all? im not really inclinded to pay someone a few hundred dollars to weld a few things together since i can get a FMIC for cheaper, but since i have the intercoolers already, is it worthwhile to braze them?

 

mig them together! my buddy did sometin similer but with a welder!

 

i have no real experience welding anything, so i dont really want to buy a mig welder on top of everything else associated.

 

I am having 2 DSM sidemounts TIG welded together into a FMIC at work.

I would find someone local willing to TIG it for beer + pizza.

 

i know someone with a tig welder, ironically the same person who told me how id be able to make an air to water intercooler out of 2 dsm intercoolers. he wont do it for beer and pizza though... my other friend his charge piping for his civic and they seemed to hold up to 10psi easily, so i figured it might be worthwhile to try something like that
