best epoxy choice
so i filled the holes for FITV on my throttle body with devcon
its great ---- but i fucked up and now there is a fat ass hole where some unhardened epoxy came out. my being a cheap ass i just put some duct tape over the hole. now i can drive fine in vac, but the car wont make more than 5psi. so i need to plug the hole with something with a little more substance. dont want to take the tb off, so it has to be thick enough to plug the hole (which is on the bottom of the tb) without falling out, and it needs to bond well to aluminum. let me know what you guys have had luck with. |
Re: best epoxy choice
uncured epoxy? epoxies only fail to cure when the hadener is very old or yo mix it poorly or in incorrect ratios.
Clean the surface with acetone to rid it of oils and use whatever fresh epoxy you have. All epoxies work well. You can also fill it with baking soda and hit it with a drop of CA. Sand it back down flush. |
Re: best epoxy choice
its on the bottom of the tb, needs to be like a putty

just use jb wled and appy it with a popsicle stick. only part that sucks about that is you have to wait for the icecream man to come through

Re: best epoxy choice
jb stick weld gets my vote, or that qwik steel ----. that worked awesome for me

Re: best epoxy choice
It takes like 5mins to remove a TB. Just take it off and use the devcon again.

Re: best epoxy choice
