my welding could be better, but it's for me, doesn't need to look good to go fast

mad tyte yellow valve cover
took only about 4 hours of total work inculding ------- up once because i was fiddling around with wastegate placement.

as a side note check out what a search for 'turbo' gets you on altavista.

Re: B18b ramhorn manifold

that metal looks paper thin :-\

good luck not getting creep with that WG elbow..

Re: B18b ramhorn manifold

thickness should be fine, it's not aluminum foil
only option i had as far as where to put the wastegate.
thanks for the optimism.

apparently you havent paid much attention to how easy ssac manis break, and their metal is about as thick as that....

good luck with it

Re: B18b ramhorn manifold

we will have to see than, i guess you don't hold much hope for ford, i can understand.
it's made from tempered steel which is studier than the galvanized piping i used. i am confident that my welds will hold. my only further plan for it is to go at it with a die grinder to smooth all transitions to eleminate hot spots.

Re: B18b ramhorn manifold

get a 90 degree bend and replace the right angle to the wastegate.

Re: B18b ramhorn manifold

That is absolutely horrid.

I love it. :y

Any reason why you couldn't have made the wastegate straight? It looks like you have plenty of room in front.

i could've cocked it at a right angle to the manifold but it was easier to weld less of a gap to fill.
i didn't want to go vertical since hood clearance might've been an issue.
you guys think this will flow better than my old manifold?

Re: B18b ramhorn manifold

Def that wastegate pipe is not helping maybe just slap a few pie cuts in there for good measure.

Re: B18b ramhorn manifold

Why put a DSM mani on it? So you can run a shitty 14b or 16g or something along those lines. Just stick with what you have until it breaks.

Re: B18b ramhorn manifold

The boost creep from that WG elbow will help that LS out a lot on the top end :6

Looks sweet :y

Re: B18b ramhorn manifold

So you chopped off the dsm cast flange part and welded a B-Series head flange! Sweet. Any pics installed before the new mani?
