Axel-back exhaust I made

Well, after a while driving with the rice can on my coupe, I said I'm sick of that gay ---- that I used to think was cool. So I went to the auto parts store and bought a Thrush Turbo muffler in 2 1/4" and a piece of straight tailpipe. I used a left over bend over the control arm from an E-gay exhaust I cut up off the project hatch (it was beaten up to ---- so I saved the good pieces and flanges for later). And I used the hangers off of the muffler that came off the hatch.

Overall it came out good. I have good clearance around everything and it only took me a couple hours to do. The car sounds nice now, with a low to mild tone from it. Most of the noise from the car is intake now.

Nice work! I should have taken a pic of my exhaust I built before I put it on the car. Its pretty rewarding considering how much a decent exhaust costs these days. Keep up the good ----! :D

One local shop quoted me $130 minimum-180 max for what I made with left over parts and a $20 muffler. I kinda didn't want to deal with doing the bend over the control arm, but then I realized I had save the bend from the hatch that went over the control arm. From there it was straight welding.

Hobart 180 Mig. Welding tubing with a mig can only look so good.
