auto dim welding helmet - is this normal?
 

i got sick of my cheap helmet so i got another cheap helmet, but with auto dim

but when its dimmed, its got a darker area down the middle of the lens horizontaly, but if i hold it up to a light off my head, its not ------ there :X its like an optical illusion and it kinda shifts if i tilt my head up or down, so its almost always right in the middle of where im looking. so basicly its retarded. anyone ever seen this? i bought it local at the store so i can return it and i probly will. get the next best one i can find under 100 :1

hi cory O0 check the missing parts and broken ---- bin at HF for a ---- helmet. if there is 1 thing you can cheap out on its your eyes. :X 8===D

i usually just use broken beer bottles over my eyes but i figured what the hell im almost a professional

i wouldn't trust any of those cheap ones. looks too much like restickered hardbor frieght's vision killers.

i use a Huntsman 411P and an ArcOne Super Single 240 auto dark retrofit lens. i like it a lot

my hobart hood works great, $65-85 depending what flavor you buy at tractor supply/ebay/hardware store

cool. id rather use a gold plated flip down tho. costs about the same to run, looks great under the hood.

i was readin about it, and the lens that your always looking through has uv and ir blocking so even if you get flashed before it has time to react, your still somewhat protected. thats what i read alleast . but fuckit. no one knows what im talkin about i guess with the dark area in the middle, probly just get a better one

pretty much if your wearing safety glasses that are worth anything they will protect you from the damaging rays. it just hurts from the sheer amount of light.
