Another grade my welds post ;)
Here is a pic of a log manifold I did for a customer that was waiting 2 months, overall I think he should be happy with the outcome.
This manifold was fully backpurged http://www.jg-fab.com/images/logmanifold.jpg This just goes to show that good things come to those who wait.... Yes I do not make manifolds as fast as many people (each log takes me 6 hours to build) but as you can see alot of time and effort go into each into making sure they are perfect. Yes there are still the letters on the wg tube, I had acetoned it after the pic to clean that off If this is how good my log manifolds come out, think of how good my $1000 top mounts come out, hopefully this will be a bit inspiring for those who are still waiting for their orders -James |
Re: Another grade my welds post ;)

Re: Another grade my welds post ;)

shoot me the money for 30 and I will glady make em (rember $850 a pop but at 30 I can give you 15% off) ;) hell I can get them all done within 1 month if you order 30, i will refund everyone else's order so i had time to do them and do 2 a day i will be your slave for a month ;) |

Re: Another grade my welds post ;)
Pretty hot. Incredible welds. Mind sharing some pics of your purge setup?
I do have a suggestion, more in regards to the turbo flange... I've used several of those T3 log flanges that you guys make and I've found that if I cut the hole for them as deep as the one you have there I can't fit very much of a turbo on it. Had issues with the compressor housing hitting on a 50trim T3/T04E. I actually had to cut the holes shallow and bridge the gap with the weld. I'm going to be ordering some more flanges in the next week or so and was wondering if you could take a little nugget of advice and make them out of 1" instead of ~.685". |

Re: Another grade my welds post ;)
I'm not sure about turbo fitment as you mentioned but I would be wee bit concerned about the flange being such an obstruction on the inside of the outer runners. It seems as though it would impede flow unless the flange is radiused which would not be visible in the pic.
Otherwise I'm jealous of your welds :) |

A log take about 2 hours tops. Now granted mine aren't as pretty as James' but I also charge a lot less. 2 months huh? Beautiful manifold though. I actually haven't made a log in so long I can't remember. Only Ram horns and Mini rams.

Re: Another grade my welds post ;)

Re: Another grade my welds post ;)
nice welds, manis are pricey but you get what you paid for
|
Re: Another grade my welds post ;)
What kind of welding machine are you using? Those are some nice welding..
|
Re: Another grade my welds post ;)
When you make the turbo inlet flange, do you notch it for the side tubes to come in? I was just taking a close look at your manifold and it seems like if that flange isnt notched your flow you dramatically decrease. That is where most of the hot gasses are and they would running into the side of your flange.
