Even though he threaded the fittings together, do you still think his welds are that crucial to the integrity of the manifold?
I ask only because I might end up going this route for the T25 build I'm hoping to do sometime soon.

Also, are these 1" fittings?

1" npt fittings, not 1" OD fittings (to clear it up). pipe thread sizing loosely follows the ID of the pipe.

Oil line fittings: Compression fittings. Couldn't figure out what the threads on the fitting entering the turbo were so I just welded 1/8 MPT nipple on to it and screwed that in. The rest of the fittings came with the kit. It was a line kit for an oil pressure gauge.

Good stuff, I don't understand all of it. I tried to preheat a bit and slow cool with a propane torch, I think it helped prevent cracking/warping, but maybe an oven would be better. As for the welding I just cranked the chinese mig up to MAX TWO and ran a single pass around the entirety of each of the joints.
I'd say you're right. Always room for improvement.

1 and 1/4 (1.25") fittings. The elbows are called street elbows, but regular ones would certainly work too. The threading makes it easy to hold together while welding, but certainly the majority of the strength is in the welds. Actually when I cut the opening for the turbo flange I cut through part of the nipple in between the two tees. I then ripped it out through the opening because I was worried it might cause problems.

Oh yea, the t25 is hitting full boost by ~2500 rpm on this bitch. Makes driving in the rain interesting : )
