Check out Jeff's built ZC project on this site. He is running zdyne gold on a built motor and planning on boosting up to 20 psi. You won't need the vafc if you have zdyne.

Re:zydne secu gold

if you got upgraded rods and good tuning i dont see why u couldnt run 15psi at the track.

so how come he(jeff on his built zc) is use a wideband o2 i guess i have to got one too. i tought everything was built in.

Re:zydne secu gold

the wideband O2 is for the dyno tuning (the dyno's computer will show the info), the Zdyne doesnt support it. he will also have the stock O2 senser that the Zdyne will read...

Dude,

The zdyne system is sweet. You'll have to ditch your map sensor, but if you buy a 2 bar (or 3 bar!!!!) sensor you can run up to 30 lbs of boost dude, if your engine can take it. :-) Basically if you get the zdyne you can throw away all your piggyback computers. All they do is trick the stock ecu. The zdyne ecu is fully programmable.

Ya but no ------- datalogging :-\ gay ass hell, If I would do it again, I would convert to obd1 and go with AEM EMS..

Re:zydne secu gold

what do you mean no datalog? i'm lost you think it would be better to get aem

HMT-Admin 03-27-2003 09:47 PM

Re:zydne secu gold

You cannot record dyno pulls, 1/4 mile pulls whatever, to see what just happend. (thus storing info and replaying it later)

And it doesnt have real time monitoring

AEM is very nice, but requires OBDo-OBD1 swap

see all that really blows ass. i want to be able to see all that cool ----. doesnt the Hondata show the air and water temps, fuel injector duty cycle, your RPM, the map your running, boost....i would like to see all that ---- would make tuning a little easier.

i want some datalogging, knock sensor, and fuel injector duty cycle...

Yeah, the SECU Gold is pretty slick. Zdyne has some as-of-yet vapourware datalogging in the works that Steven/Speed_PHreak was showing me. I was told at one point that Jeff Matthews had a regular 9-5 job and that Zdyne was just a side project, so it would explain the lack up updates on the product.

Someone on HT had a line on a nifty four channel generic datalogger that interfaced with a PC for ~$40. He was supposed to get back to me when he had it worked out, as I wanted to hear details, but... you know how it goes. Time to use the search function, I guess ;)

Let's see... wideband, RPM, MAP, and ???. FYI, turbohf, datalogging the knock sensor if notthrough the ECU is going to require some finesse. The knock sensor, just like a wideband O2, needs DSP (Digital Signal Processing) to be rendered into anything useful. I'm not a big fan of the knock sensor anyway - the (Honda) ECU ignores it above 5000 rpms as it spews a lot of garbage.

Re:zydne secu gold

no i meant a knock sensor that works, well that will sence knock and retard the timing accordingly...

Tom-Guy 03-28-2003 04:10 AM

Re:zydne secu gold

Yeah, it'll handle knocking during part throttle cruise, but WOT and or over 5K rpms? The Honda ECU ignores it - it's an emissions device, not a safety device like on the Ford 2.3T for example.

You ever look into a Saab APC? Here. They can be found cheaply at junkyards, I have one.

KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid.

Easy will get you 90% there... you 90% enough of your car and it turns into a strung out cat on crack.
