here is the deal, i've got an 89 crx dx which i've converted to mpfi and swapped in a sohc zc non-vtec. I also recently purchased the greddy 92-95 civic turbo kit w/fmic. I'm in a little bit of a dilema because i'm turboing my car this weekend (4/29/05) and i'm having a problem with my new ZDYNE GOLD SECU!!! it's not communicating with any laptop that i'm using. any ideas? The SECU is getting power, and i'm using a DB9 to USB adapter to connect it to my laptop. Here's whats happening........I either get a "CHECK SUM ERROR", "E ACCESS VIOLATION", or it says that "BINHACKER HAS CAUSED AN ERROR IN (UNKNOWN)"!!!!! This happens with every laptop that i use. I've also tried the WIN 95-98 VERSION and the WINXP version. Any help would be greatly appreciated right about now, before i pull my hair out!!!!!!!

What OS are you using on your laptop?

 

"OS"? Sorry, i don't know what you mean. But if your talking about a server, i'm using WIN 98.

actually, COM3 is the only one that i've been able to open. and yes, i'm using binhacker 95-98

i tried another laptop lastnight, and we used binhacker2000xp for it.

 

we kept recieving the "E ACCESS VIOLATION" error message, why is that??

 

Call bill @ zdyne and ask him. I've never heard of that?

The key is on the ON postion right?

 

probably just need to try and use a different com port....

 

we basically figured out that the SECU just isn't communicating with my laptop and Bill told me to try it in my friends stock 91 crx si to see if i have a wiring issue or not in my car. Does that sound reasonable? What kind of adapters are you guys using to connect the secu to the laptop?
