Why did you say you are going to come out with a write-up if you already posted all the information needed?

Anyways, I greatly appreciate the information that you posted. I am a total n00b when it comes to ignition/timing and I am trying to learn/understand as much as I can. After I do much more reading, I will be going to the dyno myself to attempt to tune my y8's ignition. Hopefully someone will be nice enough in the future to post the proper way to time/setup the y8 so that others and I will not have to waste time on the dyno.

But o well, I am an idiot. Once again, thanks JD and everyone else who has been contributing to come up with a solution to this problem.

Dont let one person ruin it for the rest of us, a detailed writeup on this would be much appreciated

It isn't one person ruining it for everyone, it is every last one of you ruining it for yourself. I haven't done anything complex here - a hundred dollars dropped at the dyno or an afternoon spent with det cans is all it takes. Most of you own ****** tuenarboi rims that cost more apiece. Can't figure out simple ---- on your own? Sell the car and buy a barbie, because all i am hearing is waaaaaaaaaah

take those timing maps and bury them

I still got MShue's det cans write up stuck in the back of my mind baby
Surprising how something so simple works awesome.

And once again, we thank you and are greatful for the information you posted. Yes, a detailed write-up would be greatly appreciated, but you are not obligated to.

I just dont understand why you posted that you were going to post a write-up and then get pissed off about idiots like me. Take a look at the pgm-fi forum thread for god sakes. I believe you said it... "10 pages filled with garbage."

I mean, c'mon, what did you expect...

Eh, sorry. I wasn't directing anything specifically at you. Real life kept getting between me and the writeup, and the whiners (... mostly on pgmfi for god's sake...) just kept whining. I do this for love, not money or anything else, and this is obviously going to turn into another "afc hack ignition recurve explained" thread. 23 pages of people who've never bothered to read my original post explaining why i am wrong or repeatedly asking about btms. 1001 emails and pms about stuff explained in the original post. Why? I refuse. I'll lump a couple dyno sheets and tunes and loose notes and email it around to those who can use it, and they can distro it from there as they see fit.

If you could email that to me that would be awesome. I've been reserarching for quite some time, and it seems as if everyone has their opinion on the y8 maps. would be great to see some actual proof.
