WTF intermittent problem help (non honda)
 

Sup everyone, this is probably my first post on this board in like 3 years. I always browse this site since I think that its one of the most knowledgeable places to learn stuff about cars. Anyways, I'd like some input on a problem my stepmother is having. She has a 1996 Toyota Tercel (those are pretty impressive cars. Just like a Honda they keep going and going), this morning her CEL lit up and she went at the dealership. They told her it was the MAP sensor AND a crank sensor. I'm a bit skeptic that two sensors would need to be replaced when even thought the CEL is on, the car runs fine from her point of view and they let her drive home with the car. The fucktard part is when she drove back from the dealership, the CEL turned back off. I would check it out myself, but I live pretty far from her and I am not exactly an experienced auto mecanic. I am not trying to have the problem E-fix, but I'd like some input since I dont trust the dealer (they also said the timing belt needed replacement when it was changed at 150000KM and the car is right now at 180000KM and running solid).

Any help whatsoever would be appreciated.
