WTF with ecu chipping

Previously i chipped some ECUīs, but now i have a problem with one i chipped for a friend, it doesnīt work at all. Without the jumper it works as normal (duhh), but with the jumper the car limits at 45k in any gear, try different programs also those ebay JUN, Spoon chips, but have same problem.

Which could be the problem, the resistor have a side?

Note: Bought parts on an electronic store
2 0.1 UF disc capacitors
1 10 KOHM resistor (1/4 watt)
1 nte74hc373
socket, jumper and chip

usually a ---- soldering job

are you burning the chip with a 8000 offset?

Not a burning issue, I try different chips that are running and do same at 45k

Re: WTF with ecu chipping

thats normally a ---- solder job as chris said above. try and reheat all the joints for the 28 pin and see if that helps

Ok

If it's not a soldering problem, maybe its a desoldering problem. Check if there is no broken internal wire. I broke some on mine and I had to bypass with an external wire, but don't try this at home, i'm a professionnal :6

Maybe i overheat and burn something, that could be the problem too?.

Yep, overheat could be a problem. If you burned the board it can be worse than in my case. I was seeing where I broke wires, but when you burn a board its harder to know.

Try to follow the printed wire on the back and use a multimeter to see if all the wire have connectivity. Can be laborious, but at least you'll know what is the problem.

I should take pics of mine, I like the way I fixed it :8

The problem is obvious. FYI I don't even bother with the caps, you only need them for glitchy Hondata daughterboards and nobody runs that poorly designed product anymore.

Nice hint, a friend of mine didnīt use it either. Then, only need the 28pin, 74hc373, jumper and 10k resistor to make it works?

Then Im going to remote it, maybe it works

i wish my honda would run at 45k :-[

1 to 1.2 k risistor

1k or 10k resistor is needed?

1.0 K ohm to 1.2 K ohm resister is needed. How is that hard to understand?

That is 1000-1200 ohms.

The stripe colors will be brown, black red (1K ohm) or brown, red, red (1.2K ohm) and then whatever tolerance you choose.

I use 1 K ohm 1/8 watt resisters w a 5% tolerance. That would be a brown, black, red gold stripe combination.
