Sure, your fine. Those caps just protect the pintles from any dirt etc. from getting inside, but they will work fine without that cap.

Werd. I had a set one time that had all of them with just minor cracks. On my way out to the garage to put them in I dropped one. God damn it. There went my perfect set of 450's. >:( My new set is perfect, besides the usual cracks.

ok well i have the same DSM's and instead of missing caps my cap is so loose that it turns due to a small crack but doesn't come off yet...do you think this will come off and fall in my cylinder? what can i do to make it stay on there?

If it's that loose I would just rip it off. :-\ I think the motor would just eat it up and no harm would follow, but I'd hate to be "that guy" who mysteriously blew his motor from a cracked pintle cap, because my luck tends to run that way. :-\

i was thinking of putting some silicon around the cap (not the nozzle part) would it do any harm? i don't see how it would, then the cap would hold.

like boost said I'd just tear off the cap, that's actually what I did with the set I had before.

Tear it off, if you really want the caps, go to your mitsu dealership or auto parts store and see if you can buy some, they shouldn't be too expensive.
