What do you do when your new laptop does not have a Parrelell port? I tried to use my new Laptop to tune (Dell) and it has no Paralell so I thought no problem, I'll grab my USB-Serial adaptor that came with a Serial-Paralell with it also, but no go, Willem does not see Com Ports, just LPT's?

Any advise, Any willem program that sees Com or a Patch?

(USB to Parallel converter). If it truly emulates an LPT port, it should work.

 

Ya I was on Willem.org forums and some guy asked and they said no, but I'm gonna go out and try to find one around town where I normally get all my electronic/computer ----.

 

That won't work. The other end uses a Centronics 36 Pin. What you need is to get a USB to Serial Adapter with a 9 pin plug and then a 9 pin to db 25 male adapter. I have all of that at home. If I get a chance, I'll test it out with my willem and post results.

 

IMO, instead of spending money on the willem, sell it and spend the money on a moates. They are nicer IMO, and if you have to mess witht he willem, then it isn't worth it.

 

Serial to USB wont work. Willem only sees LPT port and not serail COM Prts. I found another solution that uses Serial port instead of LPT so I'm gonna order that because I have the Serial to USB convertor for datalogging.

 

Problem Fixed, Bought a new burner and sold the old one!

A little bit of extra money had to be spent, but hey, what are cars for!
