hey guys mine was/is doing the same thing...i've got a more updated burner tho. The one with the usb power. It would read, verify, blank check, and even write blank programs. But the identity test only worked like once every 6 tries and it refused to write. I screwed around with it(randomly pulling the power and the chips) and it seemed to me that the dip switches shouldn't be set when the computer is turned on. This worked for like 2-3 weeks...it would cut in and out between completely writing chips. I wouldn't touch a thing from the previous minute that it wrote one perfectly and the next minute it wouldn't work. Then it took a major ---- and hasn't worked since. So just cause u got it running again doesn't mean it won't crap out again...ye be warned . I even tried dl'ing the updates and all...but it was program m51 (the original) that worked.

yes doc, you were right, I should have never doubted you.

also, I flipped all of the 12 switched to the opposite of whatever the picture said and it worked after that, so clicking ---- and doing the opposite of what you think will do great things.

reading horror stories like this is what made me skeptical to get a willem, but for the price i figured it was worth a shot, i've never had any problems with mine, only for the first burn before i figured out you have to do things in a certain order or it won't work all the time, since then, it's been flawless. just gotta be smarter than the burner guys

I put the ecu with the chip in it in my car tonight, before the unchipped ecu would clear the cel after a few seconds like normal, with this chip the cel stays on the whole time, no start, I didn't check to see whether it was fuel or spark or both that I lacked, but no start=sucks.

I have the 97h software, I can't find anywhere to dl the 97g software, the ones available on the site don't way what version they are, if I can't find 97 g soon I'll just dl what they have on the site and hope it works, damn it's cold outside, I just want to get the car started and go to sleep.

this morning I popped the chip out, cut the jumper, and tried starting it. I don't think it's liking the 72# injectors, I was hoping to just throw the stock ones in to make sure everything worked, and it was just the chip that was messing up, but then I remembered that I bored out the stock injector bottom seals to get the bigger injectors to fit. But what I figured out from cranking that bitch over alot and trying different things is that it's getting fuel (smells like fuel everywhere) and it's getting spark (pulled out a plug, set the plug in the wire on a ground and cranked and it sparked). so it has to be that chip that was fucked up, and my chip burner doesn't want to burn anymore chips.

I went through the manual patiently today and did everything it said, figured out what it means by normal position, and a18 and all that, downloaded what it said to download and still it doesn't work. Looks like this next paycheck is going to a moates burner. anybody want to burn me a chip in the mean time? all my map is is the stock p30 but with 3 bar map and 690cc injectors. Either I'm really tired because I got up at 8am on a saturday, or I really am getting more patient with things, I'm not freaking out about this like I think I usually would.

Find me a map you want to use and I'll burn you a chip while you wait to get your new burner.

lol, good luck getting good driveability with a 3 bar without a chip burner present to make trial and error changes, the 3 bar scalars are fluxored and take some tweeking to get it running right, just put your stock map back on and have someone burn you a chip with that for now. btw, willem pwnd joo
