Wideband tuning

ok guys, I dont have access to a dyno, at least not one for a 250 mile radius ( I live out in hickville), the thought of driving 250 miles on an untuned turbo setup makes me cringe. I did buy a AEM UEGO. Would this be sufficient for basic tuning till I can get it to a dyno and tune it in perfectly?

do I need to even bother with a dyno? Ive read that some people soley tune on the street with wideband and EGT because it accurately reflects the normal drivng conditions. thoughts?

aem uego will work, there are cheaper widebands though

I know, but I wanted a good high quality name brand. It says its acurate to .1 of an AFR point, that particular feature appealed to me.

I tuned with the uego and a pyrometer. Worked pretty good, car's running mint.

Good to know. Its my DD, so I'm not going to tune it right to the ragged edge, so I should be safe wether I dyno tune, or street tune.

I never had a chance to dyno tune my car, I tune on the autobahn, long uncurved stretch of no speed limit, with a friend in the passenger seat whatching the computer while datalogging, floor the pedal till rev limit. if something go wrong the friend tell you to let off,or wideband display make your correction and do it again. thats how we tune, and we have perfect AFR always

thats the same way we do it here in the states but just don't pay attention to speed limits :y
