Why 98% and 99% on the throttle points
I set up the basic HTM tune this morning on my newly turboed CX hatch. I have searched the forum and only have this one question left. Why set the trottle points to 98 and 99%. Everything else is easy to understand, this one puzzles me.
Thanks for being here and all the advice (and great stuff too) Rich Plane |
Re:Why 98% and 99% on the throttle points
Its basically so your high throttle is tuned for WOT. Its not 100% necessary that it is 98 and 99, I actually have mine a little lower

Re:Why 98% and 99% on the throttle points
Your throttle points dictate when your AFC things you're at WOT.
This can be helpful for people who boost at part throttle. |
Re:Why 98% and 99% on the throttle points
I actually I had set mine at about 75% to be below WOT and 76%+ as WOT. That seemed to work fine, I think thats about the time the ECU recognizes your running richer isn't it?

Re:Why 98% and 99% on the throttle points
Closed Loop -> Open Loop is about ~80% TPS.

Re:Why 98% and 99% on the throttle points
Thats what it was I was thinking closed to open. And at closed loop its running at the most closed to 14.5 a/f ratio where as open loop its running richer to give it higher power right?

Re:Why 98% and 99% on the throttle points
Closed loops creates pulse widths based on sensors and previously stored data, only referencing the fuel and ignition tables, including O2 sensor, TPS, ECT.. so on.
Open loop strictly references the fuela nd ignition tables to generate a pulse width. |
Re:Why 98% and 99% on the throttle points
i belive that the stock honda ecu is set at 71/ 72%
