WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
just want to see how many others are boosted and are using stock injectors. my 97 civic im boosting about 8 psi now with stock injectors fuel rail fuel regulator and s-afc any of you guys getting decent numbers with stock injectors..
also would like to know if any one can chip obd2 computer |
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
you can't chip and OBD2 and the hack only works "good" with 450cc injectors. Read up some more on the hack. Don't be cheap and just buy the DSM 450's and avoid a huge headache

Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
well im been trying to get 450cc injectors but no luck
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
Your kidding right? I just found tons of sets online. Look harder. ;D

Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
dont really trust egay ima wait and get some rc injectors or precision engineering, just wanna get feedback on peoples set ups.. with stock injectors my set up is running pretty nice stock injectors seeing if anyone else
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
im surprised you havent already blown it up running stock injectors!
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
sorry to thread jack, but i've got a set of 450's, and i'm not going to throw them in until i'm tuned. at least that is what i've heard i should do.
am i being told correctly? |
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
8 psi on stock injectors :-X I canot belive you still have pistons in that thing. I bet I could gernade that bad boy in one swift raping ;)
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
I beat on my car had a few highway races and still it runs pretty good.. so im the only one running stock injectors...ahh dam
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
Pretty much, except for the ones using an FMU.
What kinda fuel pressure regulator are you using? If it's a rising rate one then that's why your car is still holding up. |
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
im using stock injectors n ---- with a vortech fmu, the boost dependent one... but i think i hurt my motor today... it has rough starts now and runs a little sluggish at times?? any ideas?
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
god you people using stock injectors are being waaay cheap :-\
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
Drag on i have some 450s if you need them
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
i dont understand the point in spending all the money on a turbo set up and not having a good fuel management system! why ruin a good motor to save $100?
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
Stock injectors are good for like 10-12psi with the right fuel pump and higher fuel pressure.
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
---- that ..upgrade to some bigger injectors...im running the 390's and an AFC hack for now.. and it runs fine...gotta get the PM6 chipped so i can run TE.....
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
aem fuel rail, aem fuel regulator stock injectors and fuel pump 8psi
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
ARE YOU ------- WITH ME? On a b16 with 440ccs and at 10psi-11psi on uberdata I'm about to max out my injectors. You're going to tell me that stock injectors are good for 10-12psi? Thank goodness you aren't my tuner!

Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
Yeah if you like injector failure and blown engines ::)
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
Impossible.
I just glanced this thread, so I'm sure I'm going to repeat information... ..but, it's impossible to run 8psi on stock injectors reliably. Yes, you can bump up the fuel pressure. Though it would have to be around 140-150psi to supply adequate amounts of fuel to hit a safe AFR. 140psi in your fuel rail will stick your injectors open. Say you did chip your ECU and increase pulse duration. At 1.3psi (based on column headers) you're already at about 85% duty cycle. It is impossible to increase pulse width duration long enough to flow enough fuel for 8psi on a 240cc injector. If you want to continue to say you're doing it.. you know friends who do it, blah blah blah, fine. Your lack of experience will catch up with you. ..however, do not recommend ANYONE on this board do that. Passing misinformation is a huge problem amoung forums, and will not be tolerated here. |

Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
very soon i will be puttin on the injectors but its running pretty good, i have a whole new motor as a spare with srp pistons eagle rods and head gasket just in case this one fails ;D d16 can take lots of abuse and i can vouche for that.
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
it can take abuse but there is no point to kill it with stock injectors when you could easily put the built motor in WITH correct fuel injectors and sell or build the other motor ETC... ::)

use atleast and AFC.. but Turboedit (or uberdata depending on OBD version) would be best for you. |
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
will you guys read i said i have a spare motor that its built whenever i decide to switch em out i will and no im not gonna use cheap fuel management. on the stock motor i am using a apexi safc this post was not for you guys to be saying ohh hes been cheap blah blah blah when did all you guys become profesional tuners.. homemadeturbo is about trial and error whats the fun of everything going rigth the first time then later ------- something up
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
thats what we're trying to tell you. most of the people have already done the trial and error and are trying to save you the time and expense of replacing your motor ahead of schedule.
But if you really want to learn, go use the 240cc w/ a SAFC. ::) |
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
its obvious he has never heard of learning from other peoples mistakes ::)
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
Its fine im bringing him some 450s this afternoon ;D
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
well i really dont care about the motor thats in there rigth now. all i was doing is experimenting on my own car i know its not safe but its working. just takes more tuning time its a daily driver not a race only car so its street tuned meaning its running fine and kicking ass
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
This thread needs to take a different turn, otherwise, it's going to need a lock.
Well all know he's stupid for using stock injectors. Lets move on. |
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
IM going to use stock injectors a FMU and a boost timing master and srun around 6psi. :o
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
man you think ure all perfect so what i tried something different my motor blows oh well...live and learn by experience
|
Re: WHO IS USING STOCK INJECTORS
