Who can explain why VAFC/SAFC advance timing?
 

We have several electronis and computer engineers at work and I was explaining to them the VAFC/SAFC hack, but I couldn't explain why it advances timing.
I need to know details.

I could be wrong(wouldn't be the first time), but I think it is because since the AFC is taking away voltage from the map, the ecu thinks it is running lean all the time, and to compensate it advances the timing. Where is Joseph to correct me? ???

I dont think the AFC hack messes with timing. I think the computer does that automatically no matter if you have on the AFC Hack or not.

True, but the ecu is advancing the timing due to the fact that the AFC is "hacking" the map signal and telling the ecu that it is running lean. The AFC itself does not advance timing.
