Re: Where you mount your moto map sensor
Go to radio shack or fry's and get a small project enclosure. Put it in there. |

Re: Where you mount your moto map sensor
1 Attachment(s)
I'm pretty sure that the outside of the package needs to be exposed to atmospheric pressure to operate correctly. Could be wrong though. Wait, no, I'm right :
Attachment 17860 I *think* sealing that chamber could cause it to be inaccurate, but I'm probably just being paranoid. Obviously it has a vacuum reference, but there could be offsets caused by pressures on the case. I know for a fact that if you say tighten the screws that hold them too much you will create wrong readings. Just a thought before you bury one in epoxy or something. I assume you guys are talking about the SMD type ones? Fred. |
Re: Where you mount your moto map sensor
The motorola sensors are absolute...enclosing the case shouldnt pose a problem.

Fred, only gauge style sensors need P2 to be exposed to atmo. In the absolute pressure sensors, the P2 port is closed off and an almost complete vacuum is created behind the strain gauge sensor. |
