When you pop in your burn1, that "New Hardware Found" window should pop up. Click on manually find the drivers, then browse to that directory. Then install.

If that window doesn't pop up for you, then you'll have to go into device manager and update the driver there.

I think you've been hit upside the head one too many times.

Do not download that software. Forget it was ever mentioned.

Download the link in the my first post. You already have the software, you just need to install those drivers.

so i just go to

load file to buffer

then put on a bin i downloaded

then once it is up on the little screen i click

program chip. it will say sucessfull but when i put it in my ecu8 it dosent work

insert chip correctly, select the correct chip, erase chip, load file, program chip.

You also have to make sure that the offsets are correct.

Dude, just take your time with this computer crap, it can be very frustrating. NOt only do you learn about car ecu's, you learn about your computer. It took me a good week every night after work trying to figure it all out and i wasted a whole weekend reading and reading. I was about to throw this crappy ebay dell lap top through my car window. I had to walk away many times. Also, make sure after you download or whatever you do, turn your computer off all the way and then turn it back on, cause my computer wouldn't recognize the f-ing ostrich one night, and the next day it worked fine. Getting the drivers to work sometimes can really be crazy. I think you are having kinda the problem i had. If i remember how i got it working i will let you know after i read through this thread again. Go take a :6 break!!

wow thanks for that post. it does sound like me and you had/have the same problems. its good to here someone else did though becouse everyone else on here just like to pretend that all there programs run perfectly and they never have problems with anything, and if you are having problems its becouse your a retard

I do feel stupid sometimes with computers like laptops and crap like that, little over two years ago i couldn't even put a song on a ipod, i didn't know how to burn songs on cds, crap that night i was downloading the drivers for the datalogger and for the ostrich is when i learned about drivers. And then use a flippen Apple and everything changes. me in computer training ---> :1

dude i curse out computers every damn day. ---- that worked perfectly like expensive ass boxed programs dont work the next day because some stupid random setting gets changed. >:( you have to keep pluggin away til you get it, and you will get it.

Make sure your chip addressing is set at 8000 is you're using an SST chip.

That is definately wrong.

Select the 29c256 chips, and then copy the settings I have in mine(posted above). That should set the settings for the 27sf512's. If it doesn't, then change those too.

i changed the 8000 and some ---- changed, but my end address in hex is 00F7FF should i manually change it to 007fff?

Also, make sure there are 2 0's in front of the 8000.

ya i got a egay willams and that ---- is still uselesss with ists reatarded switch and settings i only was able to get it to read and downlaod the file from the chip and not burn uselss ---- form tiwan waist of 40 dollars then i boutgh all my ---- from xenocron paid some good money but used a jucky computer my frinds old dianasour age dell and it was HELL cant connect to ecu bull ---- then i spent some more money and got a good new Toshiba and now life is wonderfull.. and alot of reading and learning is involved in this.. you will learn brotha (bitchasscracker)

I installed my burner on a buddies computer in 5 minutes yesterday :1

That's including download time of the software/usb drivers/firmware updater/firmware.

not everone is on the same level when it comes with computers. i kept readying the install instructions about messing with the com ports, but in all actuallity, i dident need to. i dident change anything and it worked fine. if i had kept trying to change ---- like the directions was telling me i would of never got it. if i had just click and install eveything and palyed with it it would of worked in 5 mins too.

yea, every single time I install it on a different computer, the process is slightly different. Sometimes all you have to do is install the drivers/firmware and software and thats it. Others you have to mess with com settings and whatnot.
