Where to get tune for Chrysler 4.0l V6?
 

I am starting to put together the turbo system for my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica 4.0 Auto as a winter project.
While am sure the mechancial side CAN be done (a matter of time an money), I have so far not found ANYONE who is willing and able to tackle the ECM changes (engine and transmission).

I would consider buying a 2nd module to allow easy switching between modified and factory module.

As step 1, I want to modify the transmission (62TE) and allow full manual control (only RPM limit) gear selection when shifter is in "manual" mode.

a) Is it possible to change the program for the transmission to allow full manual (=hold selected gear)? Who could do it?
b) where would you go to get the customer programming (when the engine modifications are implemented) done
c) how would you go about it (hardware, ECM, programmers, etc.)?

Thanks for all your input (as you can tell, I am new to the DIY forced induction world).

(Save your comments along the lines of "why in the world would you put a turbo on a Pacifica". As long as people who try to add 'performance' upgrades to a truck are considered sane, you shouldn't ask the question).

you could always do the programing yourself if you know how. buy some blank chips, a burner, and then download the software. such as Crome for example, and map it all yourself. just a suggestion. could work might not, atleast that idea is out there

there is no engine management for the chrysler pacifica. crome is oly for hondas. your one option is a full stand alone like mega and that wont do anything for your transmission

ya i just threw Crome out there as an example. and did you ever think to take it to a tuner? see what they say

man there is a apexi power fc in the for sale section that should work on your car/van/suv type thing or whatever the pacifica is. its a full stand alone system

There is a Megashift stand alone controller for transmissions information is on the megasquirt site. Last I checked it was still in development. People where running the software on modified megasquirt boards. The few aftermarket standalone transmission controllers seem to run about $750. I have seen some pacifica shifters that let you select gears. I don't know how much the computer overrides the selection though. You may be able to just swap factory parts if the PCM will let you hold the gear till red line, or maybe a Hurst ratchet shifter could be made to work.

Google search shows that transmission is 6speed with adaptive electronic control (found no explanation of what thats suppose to be) or Auto stick. Above suggestions won't work with 6 speeds.

Autostick lets you select gears manually and hold till red line.

Apparently the transmission control modal shifter assembly and gauge cluster where different. It was also available in the Sebring and avenger if you try to find junkyard car for parts. The cluster just added gear indicator, you may be able to make your own idicator unless it connects to tcm by serial port or some such annoyance

If the engine control is tied into theft, brake, climate control, airbag, and whatever other systems it may be best to tune with piggyback. The AEM FIC would give you spark and fuel.

it's time you did some research on pre-computer control engines, obd1, obd2, CAN. I would make sure i knew alittle about vehicles before i responded.

i think sct and diablo offer products for chyrsler now
