Re:what happened to ghettodyne???

Ok, this is getting out of hand..

I don't know Mike's reasoning for discontinuing the project. I seriously doubt it's because of my software. He knew I was writing an editor, even sent him a beta copy. We won't know until Mike says something.

However, TurboEDIT is available, and FULLY supports Ghettodyne 2.2+ Boost ROMs. TurboEDIT is free, and has a lot of features you all might find useful.

Please stop e-mailing/PMing me asking where Ghettodyne went or what happend to it.

If you have questions regarding the use of TurboEDIT or support, then, by all means ask. Thank you.. :-\

Re:what happened to ghettodyne???

ghettodyne and turboedit are okay, but you cant play tetris with either one and grilled cheese is still the ----.

Re:what happened to ghettodyne???

Ahhhhh! I get everything I need to run ghettodyne and I go to download it and it's gone!!! NNNnnnooooo!!! Can I run turboedit without having ghettodyne originally? :-\

TurboEF9 09-21-2003 10:11 AM

Re:what happened to ghettodyne???

Yes.

TurboEDIT and Ghettodyne are two completely different programs, two different authors. One not dependent on the other.

Like running Internet Explorer, and Netscape. They do the same thing, each has different features, one not dependent on the other. :-\

Re:what happened to ghettodyne???

dont worry, your burner and roms are useful even if these programs didnt exist. there was a time when you had to edit the roms manually you know :P

Re:what happened to ghettodyne???

unless I am mistaken, ---- talking on the part of Semnos in the Turboedit thread really rubbed Mike the wrong way. Ghettodyne has really helped out the DIY scene, and was done entirely on a volunteer basis. Mike has never seen a penny for his efforts. How do you think he feels when ppl start talking ---- about something that he put TONS of work into? We all know Ghettodyne was far from perfect, but it really would have been nice for people to welcome turboedit without being so rude about it to Mike.

I may have totally misunderstood him when I talked to him, but I don't think so. The last thing you want after putting in a lot of work on something for free is to have ppl talk ---- about it.

Use your ------- heads. This ---- isn't about a competition. It's about trying to help each other... At least Ghettodyne was.

Semnos, you're on my --------. Grow up.

Re:what happened to ghettodyne???

blundar. it was semnos, not anyone else.

no one else has sed anything about GHD. except semmy, and i think it came out wrong.

Not to sound petty, but that seems to imply that TurboEDIT was created without honest intentions.

Is there something I need to know about that being talked about without me?

XDEep 09-21-2003 06:05 PM

Re:what happened to ghettodyne???

blundar i looked over that thread and i dont see anything except he pointed out ghd didnt have datalogging?

i find it very hard to believe that after all this hard work and progress he's gonna give up just because of some misplaced insult? i think a lot worse has been said in pgmfi's own threads, which i still dont think is offensive enough to cause anyone to react this way. hell if im not mistaken theres a boatload of -----talking that goes on, albeit among familiar people.

Re:what happened to ghettodyne???

WOW WOW WOW.
Hey Guys..I didn't meen for it to come out like this.
I just got to damn excited about the fact that there is more tuning programs for the OBD0 ECU's.
I already appologized a few times for that...
I'm using Ghettodyne 2.3 and it works well for me.
I didn't direct any of what I said to mike or anyone...and I know that both programs are for free so I don't see it for anyone to get mad for a stupid remark i maid..that came out wrong. Anyways I don't like being on anyones -------- and I have so much more to say, but it ain't worth it, cause everyone has faults and makes mistakes or says something the wrong way or not intentionally. I appologized and I knew the TurboEF9 was working with Mike etc....and getting help I read posts on PGMFI and on TurboEF9's page/site.....too much said already....I'll always luv Ghettodyne...I have all of them since version 1.3

Good job Semnos, you fucked everything up ;)

Now you gotta let Mike hit up your girlfriend for a few to make it up. ;D

Blundar, you need to calm down dude, you just don't run up on a guy and blow up. We all make mistakes on this board, so that means no ones perfect ( cept for Jeff ) but otherwise we need to help each other out.

Mike explained himself.

For those who thought I overreacted, just realize how much ---- I get to deal with on a regular basis. ECU hacking might seem like science to some, but you'd be amazed at how ppl can argue and fight over it. I was intending to explain what I knew of why Mike was pissed from a conversation I had with him. I personally think (and Mike seems to say so himself) that he overreacted due to stress and frustration.

I'm just happy that the torch has been passed. I am continuing work on the ROM front, as are others. Jason appears to be doing a great job of providing GUI tools. Life goes on.

ECU hacking seems like science to me. I failed science in school, so I guess that's why none of this ---- makes sense to me. I think you all are ------- genius for inventing this ---- and being able to understand it. It sounds like everybody is a bit touchy about it though. Maybe you all should sit back for a moment and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. :)
