Which way to put in chip?

The chip that was already in my ecu had writing on it longways. The chip that I am placing in it now has writing on it shortways at the bottom side of the chip. I burned the chip with the writing close to the number #1 pin. How do I identify the #1 pin slot on my zif socket? Is the #1 slot opposite of the release lever...just like on a willem burner?

I hope this makes some type of sense.......

Just line up the little notch that is on one end of the chip with all the other chips that are already soldered into the ECU, Putting it in backwards can damage the chip.

Notch always goes towards the ECU plugs in a Honda ECU :-[
